Baghdad
Today, Saturday, Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein announced that he had received positions of rejection and condemnation from the Iranian government for the strikes that targeted sites in Baghdad, Erbil and Balad Air Base during the recent period.
He said in a press statement after his visit to Tehran, “Iraq is still facing ISIS terrorist groups, and any actions that harm the security and stability of Iraq will complicate the scene and distract from the completion of the pages of confrontation with ISIS.”
He added, “The balance that Iraq enjoys allows it to take pivotal roles through which it enhances its security and sovereignty and shares this balance with neighboring countries.”
The Iraqi minister expressed his “thanks to the Iranian government for its rejectionist stances towards the strikes on the Green Zone in Baghdad, Erbil and Balad Air Base.”
It accuses Iraqi armed factions close to Iran of being behind the bombing of airports, diplomatic missions and the international coalition in Iraq.
