This came in a statement by the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, according to what was reported on Thursday by “i24news” channel.
According to the channel, Lilian is “a prominent diplomat and expert in Turkish affairs, who previously held the position of Israeli ambassador to Bulgaria, which has a 259 km land border with Turkey.”
And the channel considered that “the appointment of Lillian implies a very important signal by the Israeli Foreign Ministry, which bears a hint to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan that Tel Aviv is paving the way for a renewal of warmth in relations between the two countries.”
In early December, the Turkish president stated that his country wants to establish better relations with Israel, but Tel Aviv’s policy towards Palestine prevents that.
