Bahrain is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the referendum on its National Charter, which is a comprehensive political reform project adopted by the King of Bahrain and drafted by a committee representing all groups of the Bahraini people.
The Bahrainis voted on the charter on February 14, 2001, and it won a popular consensus with the approval of 98.4% of the Bahrainis.
