The Israeli government said that starting next week, only 200 Israelis will be allowed to enter daily via Ben Gurion Airport, due to fears of new mutations of the Coronavirus.
This decision came after an agreement reached by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Health Minister Yuli Edelstein and Transportation Minister Miri Regev, on this matter, due to fears of new mutations of the Corona virus entering Israel, and against the background that the mandatory quarantine of returnees in hotels ends at midnight.
The Ministry of Transportation stated in a statement that the entry of Israelis will be reduced to a minimum, with the exception of necessary humanitarian cases only, “until a technical solution is found or quarantine in hotels is restored.”
The ministry demanded “whoever plans to leave Israel in the coming days, to study the necessity of his exit in light of the restrictions expected upon his return.”
It is noteworthy that the Constitution Committee was supposed to meet today to extend the mandatory quarantine of the returnees, but the session was canceled and this will lead to the abolition of the compulsory entry to the quarantine of returnees in hotels.
