Israel banned the call to prayer at the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron today, Friday, under the pretext of settlers celebrating Purim with the Jewish people.
The director and head of the sanctuary, Sheikh Hefzi Abu Sneina, said, “The occupation authorities prevented the call to prayer from Morocco on Thursday, and the ban will remain, according to what we have received, until the adhaan for dinner tomorrow, Saturday, under the pretext of securing the settlers’ celebration of what they call Purim.”
Abu Sneina considered, “These measures constitute an infringement of the freedom of worship guaranteed by all divine laws and international laws.”
“Wafa” agency reported that the Israeli army intensified its presence in the vicinity of the Ibrahimi Mosque and stormed the house of a citizen in the city of Hebron and delivered a report to him to meet with its intelligence services after searching his house and tampering with its contents.
