Israel said Thursday that it is working to develop a new ballistic missile shield “Arrow-4” in cooperation with the United States, a new level of defense system it has built with a focus on Iran.
The Israeli Ministry of Defense stated in a statement that the state-owned Israel Space Industries Company will be the main contractor to develop the “Arrow-4” system.
“The Arrow-4 missile shield is advanced and innovative, with improved capabilities. The system will deal with a wide range of threats in the region and will replace the Arrow-2 interceptors in the coming decades,” the ministry said in a tweet.
It is noteworthy that the Israeli Ministry of Defense and the US Missile Defense Agency announced last December that they had conducted a successful series of tests of an advanced version of the “David’s Sling” system.
