Hebrew media reported that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is studying the possibility of canceling the expected visit today, Thursday, to the UAE, due to his wife Sarah suffering a health problem.
The widespread “Yediot Aharonot” newspaper quoted sources close to the prime minister as saying that Netanyahu favored the possibility of canceling the visit, due to his wife being taken to hospital due to her appendicitis.
According to Israeli and Western press reports, Netanyahu was scheduled to meet today in the UAE, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Mohammed bin Zayed, as part of his first foreign visit since the signing of the “Abraham Accords” last September.
Israeli media also claimed that Netanyahu may also meet in the UAE Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (Reuters denied these allegations, citing a Saudi official) and Sudanese Prime Minister Abdullah Hamdok.
This comes against the backdrop of the approaching date of the fourth elections during the past two years in Israel, scheduled to be held on March 23.
