The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation reported that the Palestinian security services had thwarted a stabbing attack targeting Israeli soldiers.
Kan quoted Palestinian sources as saying that two days ago, the security services arrested two Palestinian women from Nablus, who were on their way to carry out a stabbing attack against Israeli soldiers or settlers in the Hawara area, south of Nablus in the West Bank, and they are currently under investigation by the Palestinian side.
The radio indicated that “the success of the Palestinian Authority in thwarting the operation comes after the resumption of security coordination between Israel and the Palestinian Authority last month.”
She pointed out that she “learned from Palestinian officials that before the security coordination, head of the Shin Bet security service Nadav Argaman secretly visited Ramallah and met with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas.”
She added, “The meeting, which took place two and a half or three months ago, discussed ways to restore security coordination between the two parties and transfer funds to the Palestinian Authority.”
