Researchers from the Israeli Tel Hashomer Medical Hospital said that the efficacy of the Pfizer Bionic vaccine reached 85% after the first dose.
Hospital experts added in a press briefing: “After 7,000 hospital workers received a first dose of the Pfizer vaccine in January, Sheba’s research team recorded an 85% decrease in symptomatic cases of Covid-19 disease, over a period ranging between 15 -28 days after vaccination.
According to the study, the total number of infected people, including carriers of the virus without symptoms, decreased by 75%.
Israel tops the list of countries in terms of the number of people who have been vaccinated, compared to the total number of its population, as more than 14.13 million doses have been used so far and more than 2.7 million people have received the second dose of the vaccine against the Coronavirus.
