A fourth dose of the Covid-19 vaccine Antibodies fivefold a week after giving the injection, Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett said Tuesday, citing preliminary results from an Israeli study.
“One week after the fourth dose we know with a higher degree of certainty that it is safe,” he said in the Sheba Medical Center, he’s administering a second booster dose in a trial among his staff, amid a nationwide surge in omicron-variant infections.
“The second news is that we know that a week after the administration of a fourth dose the amount of antibodies in the vaccinated person quintupled,” he told the media.
“Most likely this implies a significant increase against infection and … hospitalization and the (severe) symptoms, “Bennett said.
Israel has played a leading role in the study of the effects of vaccines against Covid-19, being the country that most quickly administered its two-dose regimen to a wide sector of the population a year ago, and has been one of the first to inoculate a third booster shot.
You are now administering fourth doses of the Pfizer/BioNTech to those over 60 years of age, health workers and immunocompromised patients.
