The General Authority of “United Against Sectarian Intolerance” elected its General Secretariat for a two-year term until mid-2024, in the official launch of its project aimed at rejecting sectarian intolerance.
“United Against Sectarian Intolerance” is a global intellectual and cultural organization with a variety of practical activities, and it includes personalities from various disciplines and scientific and practical backgrounds who are actors in the arena of public affairs and influence public opinion.
It also includes a number of people interested in affirming national and humanitarian affiliations and the values of rejecting sectarian intolerance in the region and around the world, within an organizational and legal framework that guarantees its existence, work and institutional performance.
Abdul Karim Bakkar was chosen as its Secretary-General, Anas Al-Tikriti as Deputy Secretary-General, Hassan Al-Safadi as an official spokesman, Adnan Humaidan as Secretary, and Muhammad Siddiq Yildirim as Treasurer.

The charitable organization – which is based in the Turkish city of Istanbul – seeks to combat sectarian and racist intolerance in all its forms, expose the violations associated with it, raise public awareness of the diseases of sectarian and racial intolerance, as well as promote the values of tolerance, citizenship, coexistence, justice and brotherhood.
The Secretary-General of the Organization, Abdel Karim Bakkar, says that this comes from the fact that people are equal in human dignity, and accordingly; No group of people may be discriminated against in public rights, regardless of gender, belief, language, and national affiliation, or their human, political or social rights may be disregarded.
Bakkar explained that racism and sectarianism are a moral and cultural distortion that makes its owner attribute to himself or his group virtues that are not his, and attribute to others shortcomings that are not in him.
He stated that the supervisors of the organization are united, and they are trying to reduce the negative aspects of this intolerance and its destructive effects on the future of the unity of the nations.
It is noteworthy that the organization was launched at the end of 2021 and was licensed as a charitable association in Turkey by last April 2022, and its current general secretariat was elected on Sunday 19 June.
