An Italian health official said that on January 7 we will start again the natural division of the country’s regions according to the colors yellow, orange and red, based on the epidemiological indicators announced every week.
And Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, Sandra Tzamba, added in press statements Thursday, about what will happen with the measures to contain the Covid 19 epidemic after the Christmas holidays: “I do not know exactly the data for all regions, but since things are improving, I think that as of Thursday, January 7, the whole country will be Yellow area. “
She added that new red zones in 2021 cannot be ruled out, which will depend on the direction of the data.
In response to a question about how long the restrictive measures will remain in effect in Italy, she said: “As long as the data tells us that we must maintain these measures, assessments will be made on the basis of scientific data, and therefore restrictions will remain in effect as long as necessary.”
Regarding schools, she added: “As of January 7, schools that were closed until before the Christmas holidays will be reopened. As for nurseries and primary schools, which were open in December originally, nothing will change for them.”
