Japan affirms its commitment to holding the Tokyo Olympics and denies a media report about its cancellation

Japanese Deputy Prime Minister and Government Spokesman, Manabu Sakai, said in a press statement today, Friday, that the media report regarding the possibility of canceling the Tokyo Olympics is untrue and denied the matter completely.

This denial comes after a report published by The Times newspaper, earlier, in which it said that the Japanese government implicitly decided to cancel the Olympiad, which was postponed from last year until next summer, due to the Corona virus pandemic.
