Barcelona, Apr 12 (.).- The Japanese chemical-pharmaceutical company AGC Pharma Chemicals will invest 90 million euros in the expansion of its factory located in Malgrat de Mar (Barcelona).
The investment, which will allow the creation of 100 new jobs, aims to increase the production capacity of active pharmaceutical ingredients by 30%, for which the construction of a new 7,500 m2 production plant is planned.
The new facilities will have reactors of between 1.5 and 7.5 m3 to produce more volume of active pharmaceutical ingredients, as well as additional space for future investments by the group in the Malgrat de Mar plant.
The announcement comes after the meeting between the Minister for Business and Labor, Roger Torrent, and the director of AGC Pharma Chemicals Europe, Akihiro Kadokura.

For this investment project in Catalonia, the company has the support of the Agency for Business Competitiveness of the Department of Business and Labor (ACCIÓ), through the Catalonia Trade & Investment foreign investment attraction unit.
