The Secretary-General of the Government of Japan, Katsunobu Kato, said that Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga is planning to visit the United States and meet with US President Joe Biden in April.
In a press conference today, Cato added, “It is planned to hold the prime minister’s visit to the United States, in the first half of next April.”
Earlier, Kato indicated that his country’s authorities hope that the visit of Suga to the United States will take place as soon as possible, but the issue of the spread of the Corona virus will be taken into account when preparing for it.
The Japanese prime minister will be the first foreign leader to meet Biden at his official residence. It is known that the first foreign leader US President Barack Obama received at the White House in February 2009, was Japan’s Prime Minister at the time Taro Aso. Former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe became the first foreign leader to meet the forty-fifth President of the United States, Donald Trump, in New York immediately after his election, but before his inauguration.
And Kato stated, that Soga will be vaccinated against the Corona virus, before heading to the United States in April.
