The first big name of the deadline day for rookie contract renewals has been Jaren Jackson Jr. The Memphis Grizzlies have extended the player’s contract for four years for a total of $ 105 million. According reports Adrian Wojnarowski couple ESPN, the conditions will be updated today. For now, point out that Jackson Jr. was opting for a maximum of 5 years and $ 207 million, the same as the one signed by Doncic, Young, Porter Jr and Gilgeous-Alexander.
Even if the Tennessee franchise was not in the interest of offering you 25% of the salary space, this signing does mean a major vote of confidence. Despite the potential shown, Jackson Jr.’s physical discontinuity could have given rise to waiting. This season will be the one that marks his position in the team with respect to being the face of the franchise alongside Ja Morant. On the one hand, general manager Zach Kleiman risks compromising much of his salary space in the medium term, but if the center lives up to expectations this year, he may be saving a few million for the immediate future.
