The Utah Jazz have closed the incorporation of Justin James under a two-way contract, as announced by the franchise itself.
James, a forward trained at the University of Wyoming, has completed his first two NBA seasons with the Sacramento Kings after being selected by them in the 40th position of the 2019 draft. His averages in California have risen to 3.2 points and 7.5 minutes in a total of 72 games. However, the Kings terminated his contract on August 15, before it was guaranteed for a third season.
This move completes the two available dual deals on the team, the first being in the hands of Trent Forrest. Thus, both players will combine the Jazz with the Salt Lake City Stars of the Development League. In addition, the Jazz currently have fourteen contracts on the payroll, so there is still a free vacancy to play in the 2021-22 season.
The Jazz will start the season on October 20 against the Oklahoma City Thunder, while the Stars will play their opening game on November 5.
