Blue Origin reported on Twitter there was a “booster failure” on the flight, triggering the escape system. The capsule “successfully divided” from the rocket, the spaceflight enterprise included.
It was the first key incident for billionaire Jeff Bezos’ spaceflight corporation since it opened business expert services to the public in 2021.
The Federal Aviation Administration, or FAA, is investigating the incident, which it referred to as a “mishap” in a statement sent to Insider.
“The capsule landed securely and the booster impacted within just the specified hazard area. No injuries or general public property problems have been reported,” reported the FAA.
