Jennifer Aniston has revealed the intense toll of filming The Morning Show, admitting she feels “dead” and that the process has “just killed me” after wrapping each season.
In a recent cover story for Glamour, Aniston compared the grueling production schedule to childbirth, explaining that she tends to forget the difficulty between seasons. “I kind of compare it to what childbirth must be like,” she said. “You just kind of forget what it was, and then next thing you know you’re knocked up again.”
Aniston, who plays anchor Alex Levy and serves as an executive producer, noted the importance of decompressing after each demanding shoot, sometimes by taking on a comedy role “as fast as possible.” She previously described the series to People as a “beast to film” due to its “layered, complicated, [and] emotional” nature, emphasizing, “it’s not Friends.”
The fourth season of The Morning Show is set to premiere on Apple TV+ on September 17, with new episodes airing weekly on Wednesdays. According to the official synopsis, the new season will see the newsroom grapple with “newfound responsibility, hidden motives and the elusive nature of truth in a polarized America” amid deepfakes and corporate cover-ups.
Returning cast members include Reese Witherspoon, Billy Crudup, Mark Duplass, Karen Pittman, Greta Lee, Jon Hamm, and Nicole Beharie. They will be joined by newcomers Marion Cotillard, Jeremy Irons, Aaron Pierre, William Jackson Harper, and Boyd Holbrook.
Reflecting on her deep involvement with the series, Aniston acknowledged the challenges extend beyond her on-screen performance. “We’re involved in every single aspect of the show,” she said, crediting her “incredible support” and “incredible team” for making the production possible.
