(CNN) — Newlyweds Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have a blended family and things seem to be going well.
In an interview with Vogue published on Tuesday, JLo opened up about reuniting with her ex-fiancé who she said “never shied away from the fact that for me, I always felt like there was real love there, true love there.”
“People know that he was a very, very special person in my life,” she told Affleck’s post. “When we reconnected, those feelings for me were still very real.”
When the couple married in July, they officially became a larger family with the artist’s twins and Affleck’s three children with his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner.
Lopez had words of praise for Garner during the interview, saying that the actress is “an amazing co-mother, and [Garner y Affleck] They work very well together.”
“Transition is a process that needs to be handled very carefully,” Lopez said of her blended family.
“They have so many feelings. they are teenagers. But it’s going really well so far,” JLo said. “What I hope to cultivate with our family is that his children have a new ally in me and my children have a new ally in him, someone who really loves them and cares about them, but who can have a different perspective and help me see the things that I cannot see with my children because I am very tied emotionally”.
Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck divorced in 2018 after filing in 2015. Lopez shares her twins with her ex-husband, singer Mark Anthony, whom she divorced in 2014.
