Jesús Felipe Verdugo is the new Undersecretary of Infrastructure of the SICT

The civil engineer, graduated from the Autonomous University of Baja California (UABC), Jesús Felipe Verdugo, was appointed Undersecretary of Infrastructure of the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT).

Verdugo López was previously in charge of the General Directorate of Highways and in his professional history, which includes a diploma in Infrastructure Investment from the Autonomous Technological Institute of Mexico (ITAM), he highlights that he is a member of the Mexican Association of Roadway Engineering (AMIVTAC), which he chaired in the period 2015-2017.

This Thursday, on his Facebook account, the XXXIX board of directors of the College of Civil Engineers of Mexico (CICM) congratulated its advisor, Jesús Felipe Verdugo López, on his appointment as Undersecretary for Infrastructure of the SCIT.

We are convinced that his experience and trajectory will boost the contribution of civil engineering in strengthening the infrastructure in Mexico”, commented his colleagues.

In addition, this week he accompanied the head of the SICT, Jorge Nunoat the inauguration of the International Seminar on planning, financing and social risks for the development and management of road infrastructure, organized by AMIVTAC.

Wide experience

The new head of the Undersecretary of Infrastructure (a space that became vacant after the rise of Jorge Nuño to head the SICT), has more than 30 years of experience within the agency and enjoys a good reputation in the highway sector.

Some of the positions he has held in the department are: construction resident, general resident of Federal Highways and deputy director of Works in various SCIT Centers, deputy general director of Physical Supervision of Highways in the General Directorate of Highway Development and head of the Directorate Deputy General of Construction and Modernization of Federal Highways of the General Directorate of Highways.
