The Pittsburgh Steelers are reportedly a prime destination for six-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Keenan Allen, but the New York Jets could strategically intercept the move to bolster their own offense.
In a recent prediction, Bleacher Report’s Moe Moton suggested the Steelers would sign Allen, who became a free agent after playing for the Chicago Bears in 2024. Moton noted that Pittsburgh is making “win-now moves,” having already added several decorated veterans to support its new quarterback. Adding a receiver of Allen’s caliber would be a logical next step for the franchise.
Despite being a 12-year veteran, Allen continues to perform at a high level. In 2024, he finished second on the Bears with 70 catches for 744 yards and led the team with seven touchdown receptions, demonstrating his value as a reliable target.
While Allen is a strong fit for the Steelers, the Jets also have a clear need for wide receiver depth and could greatly benefit from his services. Signing the veteran would provide quarterback Aaron Rodgers with another proven weapon and significantly strengthen New York’s passing attack.
By acquiring Allen, the Jets would not only improve their own roster but also prevent a key AFC competitor from landing a major offensive piece. Such a move would add another layer of intrigue to the conference’s competitive landscape as both teams pursue a championship.
