Biden has taken heat for the United States’ frenzied exit from Afghanistan after a nearly 20-year war.

A week ago, an ISIS-K attack outside Kabul’s Hamid Karzai International Airport – the one area of the country where the U.S. still had control over the Taliban – left 13 U.S. forces dead, along with nearly 200 Afghans.
On Sunday, the Bidens traveled to Dover, Delaware for a dignified transfer ceremony of the remains of the 13 American war dead.
Biden first visited Walter Reed as commander-in-chief just nine days into his presidency to visit wounded troops.
He had been a patient in the facility in 1988 as a U.S. senator who was recovering from two brain aneurysms.
Walter Reed is also where Biden’s son Beau – who served a tour in Iraq with the Delaware National Guard – battled the brain cancer he succumbed to in 2015.
More recently Biden took Marine One to Walter Reed to check in on his wife, who injured her foot on a Hawaii beach. The first couple took a motorcade together back to the White House.
