Ayman Al-Zawhiri was intensely wanted because of his terrorist activities. He was a close collaborator of Osama bin Laden, especially when it came to preparing the attacks of September 11, 2001, against the World Trade Center in New York. In 2011, when Osama bin Laden was killed by a US army commando, it was the Egyptian Al-Zawahiri who took over the reins of the terrorist group Al-Qaeda. Until recently, according to Joe Biden’s statement, he continued to call for violent actions in the United States.
