Joel Embiid is ready to go. After ending last season with some concern after suffering a meniscus tear in his right knee, the summer has helped him to restore the joint. It was rumored that he should go under the knife, but he ultimately opted for a natural healing process. It has worked. On the 76ers’ Media Day he has assured that he has no problem with his knee.
“It has been well. I was training all summer. It has been good, without problems. I’m going back to where I was and I feel pretty good, “he says.
This is great news for Philadelphia. Since he was injured in the playoffs (he kept playing), we haven’t had an update on his fitness. With Ben Simmons likely goodbye, and perhaps playing for a while without him or a replacement, the Sixers’ success will largely depend on what Embiid does and how healthy he is. Regarding his game, the center He wanted to point out that it will vary a bit with respect to what has been seen in previous courses.
“This year I’m thinking of shooting more triples, because that’s what is going to help the team. Last year I thought it helped by not shooting a lot of 3s. People can have different points of view on that, but I think it’s very useful, so that’s something I’m going to do, ”he stresses.
Finally, and being one of the hot topics of the day, he commented on the absence of Ben Simmons with these words. “If I didn’t like playing with him, I’m honest, I’d say so. I love playing with him because he brings a lot to our team. We have been building this team around us… I am disappointed that it is not here, ”he concludes.
