John Deere will invest 55 million dollars in expansion of its plant in San Pedro Garza García

Monterrey, NL. The manufacturer of agricultural machinery and equipment John Deere announced this Friday, November 11, an investment of 55 million dollars, in the expansion of its plant located at Boulevard Díaz Ordaz 500, in San Pedro Garza García, with two new machinery production lines for the agricultural and construction sector, and 400 direct jobs will be created.

Gerardo Mendoza, director of the John Deere Monterrey Site highlighted the importance of this expansion of the company in the municipality of San Pedro Garza García: “More than 70 years after our arrival in Nuevo León and Mexico, we are proud to make this investment announcement , we want to continue being a pole of attraction for young talent and for them to be part of our team made up of more than 3,000 people, only in Monterrey”.

Starting in 2023, the company will annually manufacture three different models of skid steers, known as Skid Steers, whose main market is its country of origin: the United States. It will also produce 9 models of mower conditioners.

Mark Von Pentz, president of the Agriculture and Turf Division at Deere & Company, indicated that 185 years after the founding of the company, John Deere is entering the smart industry, with the digitization of its equipment, with that, the farmer it has greater traceability from the farm, which is more sustainable.

Bill Norton, vice president, manufacturing leader, small agriculture and turf -America, Deere & Company, recalled that 10 years ago when they planned their arrival in Nuevo León they did a checklist to settle, and they found quality labor, which gave them would allow for higher profitability.

He recalled that three years ago they had an unprecedented challenge that tested their resilience and ability to work due to the pandemic, and despite those years, in 2023 they have had a year with significant sales of products and services.
