John Goodman’s house in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles is one of hundreds burned to the ground, according to photos obtained by PEOPLE.
The Roseanne actor’s residence was only a pile of debris, surrounded by downed power lines and trees, in photos taken on Jan. 8. It was unclear if Goodman was in the city at the time of the evacuation order, as he and his wife Beth split their time between L.A. and New Orleans.
A representative for Goodman did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
As of Thursday afternoon, uncontrolled wildfires across the city had forced the evacuation of over 100,000 residents and left at least five dead — though Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna said the death toll remains unknown.
The first of six fires in Los Angeles broke out on Tuesday, Jan. 7, in Pacific Palisades, burning 15,832 acres with 0% containment by 8 p.m. the following day, per the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
According to the Associated Press, by Wednesday afternoon, it was the most destructive fire in the city’s history — decimating an estimated 1,000 structures.
Included in the destruction left by the L.A. fires were the houses of numerous Hollywood stars.
Per a photo obtained by PEOPLE, the blaze claimed the house of Miles Teller and his wife Keleigh Teller in Pacific Palisades, which the pair reportedly bought in 2023. Paris Hilton revealed in a social media post on Wednesday that her Malibu home had also burned — which she watched unfold live on television.
“Heartbroken beyond words.💔 Sitting with my family, watching the news, and seeing our home in Malibu burn to the ground on live TV is something no one should ever have to experience,” the businesswoman and reality star captioned an emotional Instagram update.
Billy Crystal, Ricki Lake and Cameron Mathison also confirmed that their houses were gone amid the fires, and dozens more updated their followers that they had evacuated their residences and didn’t know the status of their properties.
