The Director of Moral Guidance in the Jordanian Army, Brigadier General Talal Al-Ghubain, confirmed that the end year was an exceptional year and witnessed the thwarting of more than 100 infiltrations and 30 cross-border smuggling operations.
In a television statement, he said, “The armed forces have thwarted more than 100 infiltrations and 30 smuggling operations on the borders, in addition to seizing more than 15,000 marijuana, 131 million and 817,000 narcotic pills (Captagon) and other weapons smuggling operations during 2020.”
He added: “As for the medical services, the Royal Commission has not only dealt with the Corona pandemic during the past year, but has also performed 4,585 surgeries, 950 cardiac catheterization operations, 10,870 dialysis sessions, and 26,398 radiological interventions, and has also received 3916,677 patients.”
He continued, “Our hospitals contain 3,500 beds and have been reinforced with 900 beds through the field hospitals that have been established,” indicating that “there is a tendency to increase the capacity to 4,500 beds.”
Al-Ghubain pointed out that “more than 5,000 officers and soldiers were recruited during the same period, as they were recruited from Mu’ta University, Princess Mina College, and college officers and recruitment at the expense of the general shortage.”
