The Catholic community in Jordan held a mass, on Saturday, to commemorate the annual Christian pilgrimage ceremony at Al-Magtas, which is the original place of the baptism of Christ, located on the east bank of the Jordan River.
This year’s party was held without the usual procession of pilgrims due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The celebration was chaired by Pierre Batista Pizzaballa, Patriarch of Jerusalem for the Latinos and Chairman of the Catholic Bishops of the Holy Land.
