The Jordanian State Security Court issued prison sentences and hard labor, ranging from 3 to 9 years, to defendants convicted of planning terrorist operations in the country.
The convicted persons were convicted in various cases, including targeting military sites with improvised explosive devices and explosive materials, attacking churches and targeting security patrols in Zarqa with automatic weapons.
The State Security Court sentenced two defendants who were convicted of association with the terrorist organization “ISIS” nine years in prison with hard labor.
The court also ruled to imprison other defendants in other security cases, whose sentences ranged from 3 to 7 years’ imprisonment with hard labor.
The court stated that they were convicted “on charges of promoting the ideas of a terrorist group, establishing an association to incite terrorist activity, incite to undermine the political system of government in Jordan, and transport narcotic substances.”
