The Attorney General’s Office of Mexico City (FGJCDMX) announced that he obtained the formal prison order against Cuauhtémoc Gutiérrez de la Torre, former leader of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) of the country’s capital, who is accused of alleged human trafficking in its form of sexual exploitation and criminal association.
The local agency detailed this Tuesday that a criminal judge, based in the East Men’s Preventive Prison issued a formal prison order and that the investigation stage of the criminal process against Gutiérrez de la Torre begins, including the suspension of his political rights .
Given that the events probably occurred in 2014 and at the time the ministerial and police authority of the then Attorney General’s Office of the Federal District could have carried out deficient investigation acts, omitted and far from the duty to seek justice,

Through a thread on Twitter, the prosecution recalled that on December 29 elements of the Investigative Police of the Attorney General’s Office of Mexico City, attached to the General Coordination of Investigation of Gender Crimes and Attention to Victims , executed a search warrant in a property located in the Tlalpan mayor’s office and completed the arrest warrant requested in March 2021 against the former PRI leader.
The FGJCDMX reiterated on the social network that it ordered to carry out, through the Office of the Prosecutor for Investigation of Crimes in Trafficking in Persons, a meticulous analysis of the investigations related to this case.
Gutiérrez de la Torre had been wanted since March last year and Interpol even issued a red card to order his search and capture at the request of the capital’s authorities.
In 2014, Cuauhtémoc Gutiérrez was charged for his alleged participation in the management of a prostitution ring within the Executive Committee of the PRI in the capital. Given this, the PRI was separated from the party leadership and in 2015, the then Attorney General’s Office of Mexico City decided not to take criminal action against him.
