A junkie who almost ‘scalped’ his partner when he ripped clumps of her hair out has been jailed for more than two years.
Drug-user Andrew Williamson, 41, also punched the woman and threatened her with a knife before stabbing her sofa and phone at her Northampton home.
Shocking pictures show the victim’s scalp where Williamson tore her hair out with his bare hands, as a senior policewoman said the injuries were among the worst she has ever seen.
The brutal attack on November 4 last year took place in front of the woman’s two children but despite her injuries, she was still able to dial 999.
Williamson fled the scene as Northamptonshire Police raced to the address and their Domestic Abuse Investigation Unit (DAIU) subsequently launched a manhunt.

When officers arrived, the victim told them that she had also been strangled and repeatedly punched in the face during the attack.
The thug was finally caught in January before being charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, intentional strangulation and two counts of criminal damage.
He admitted assault but denied the other three offences which were discharged at Northampton Crown Court.
Williamson, of Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, has now been jailed for two years and three months.
He was also given a five-year restraining order preventing him from contacting the victim and ordered to pay a £228 victim surcharge.
PC Rachel Powell said: ‘During our investigation it became painfully apparent just how much fear and distress Andrew Williamson has caused to this woman.
‘This was a prolonged attack that left her with injuries that have affected her both emotionally and physically.
‘He ripped out so much of her hair as to have partially scalped her, causing injuries among the worst I have seen in my 20-year career.
‘Williamson’s violence, threats and intimidation left her feeling scared and powerless to escape him but thanks to her bravery in speaking up about what he put her through, he admitted his guilt and has rightly been imprisoned for his unacceptable actions.
‘This woman deserves nothing but happiness in her future and I hope seeing Williamson plead guilty and rightly go to prison gives her some comfort as she continues to heal and recover.’
