A company spokesman said that the “Kalashnikov – Strikeball” project had not yet reached the stage of industrial production. However, last February, the company had unveiled a model at an exhibition set up by “Strikeball” enthusiasts.
The spokesman said that the company intends to first launch a limited batch of “Aka-12 Strikeball” rifles, adding that the sporting version will use all the components of the original “Aka-12”.
It is reported that the Kalashnikov Company had begun production of a “Strikeball” version of the “Makarov” pistol, which it called the МР-659К. This sports model is produced at the Izhevsk Mechanical Plant as a branch of the Kalashnikov Company. A firearm pistol is also produced in it.
