NBA legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is celebrating his 75th birthday on Saturday with a fun new crossover video where ESPN and the NBA team up to promote Universal Pictures’ Jurassic World: Dominion.
Abdul-Jabbar, the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, appears in the ad along with NBA legend and current ESPN broadcaster Richard Jefferson and current NBA star Scottie Barnes, who, fittingly, plays for the Toronto Raptors.
The ad also features a brief appearance by actor Jeff Goldblum, reprising his role as Ian Malcolm from the original Jurassic Park in Jurassic World: Dominion, arriving in theaters June 10.

The video begins in the ESPN offices where Barnes catches up with Jefferson, asking, ‘What’s up with all the dinosaurs in the office?’
The ad also mimics the now-famous Jurassic Park shot of a beverage rippling in a mug, as Kareem speaks up, thinking that Barnes was talking about him.
‘You know I can hear you, rookie,’ Abdul-Jabbar says to the 20-year-old rookie from Florida State University.

Barnes clarifies, ‘I meant like dinosaur dinosaurs,’ as we see one of the raptors running through the hallways.
Kareem shakes his head and goes back to work while another raptor hops up on a filing cabinet, when Jeff Goldblum makes his appearance.

Abdul-Jabbar shared the video in a tweet, adding, ‘I may be 75 today but I’m no dinosaur,’ plus the hashtags #JurassicWorldDominion and #ad.
Jurassic World: Dominion is the sixth installment of the Jurassic Park franchise, and the last in the latest trilogy started with 2015’s Jurassic World and 2018’s Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.

While Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is best known for his legendary 20-year NBA career where he won six NBA championships, he’s no stranger to acting as well.
The 7-foot-2-inch center made his feature film debut in the 1972 film Game of Death, the last film released starring martial arts legend Bruce Lee.
He also starred in the 1980 comedy classic Airplane! and he played himself in the 1985 movie Fletch and the 1989 comedy Troop Beverly Hills.
