It is believed the pair have come to an understanding that Benzema’s comments were made in the heat of the moment and had no malice behind them.
Benzema and Vinicius are said to be on good terms following the discussion, and will maintain a healthy working relationship.
The tension stemmed from footage that was released following the game on Tuesday.
The clip showed the Real Madrid players filtering out from the dressing room and into the tunnel for the second half, with Vinicius stood within earshot of both Benzema and Mendy.
In a conversation spoken in French, Benzema tells Mendy: ‘Don’t play with him. On my mother’s life, he [Vinicius] is playing against us.

Cameras in the tunnel at Borussia-Park picked up a conversation in French between Benzema (bottom right) and Ferland Mendy, who were reportedly talking about Vinicius (top left)
‘He [Vinicius] does not do anything useful,’ with the left back replying: ‘When he becomes scared, he loses what makes him great.’
Following the conversation, Marca reported that Mendy only passed the ball to Vinicius – who both play on the left – three times during the second half following the conversation.
The incident involving Benzema on Tuesday evening came just days after Isco was caught criticising Zinedine Zidane during El Clasico, leading to more claims of unrest in the Real Madrid training room.
