A fitness trainer who looks better in her 30s than she did in her teens has shared the secrets behind her effortlessly glowing complexion.
Kat Clark, from the Gold Coast in Queensland, became a teen mum at the age of 17 after giving birth to her daughter Latisha.
And now the 34-year-old mother-of-two has revealed she often gets mistaken for her 17-year-old daughter’s sister or friend.
She credits her age-defying looks and flawless physique to walking her dogs every day, only wearing makeup on weekends, sunscreen and collagen.

‘I am a busy working mum so I walk my dogs every day to the beach and back and try to do a few workouts from home most weeks,’ Kat told Daily Mail Australia.
‘I don’t wear a lot of makeup, I usually only where makeup on the weekends. I think staying hydrated and wearing sunscreen every day have helped me keep my skin looking good.’
She said the beauty and skincare routine she follows is ‘nothing crazy’.
‘I honestly feel like I don’t do enough,’ she said, laughing.
‘I cleanse my face every morning and night with a vitamin C cleanser from The Body Shop. Moisturise with CeraVe cream afterwards too. I also drink collagen every day. Honestly nothing special.’
Kat said her diet consists of 90 per cent of healthy food but she still treats herself with anything she wants, within reason.
‘I do my best to always eat healthy. My body and health is just a reflection of what I eat… I still enjoy a cheeky meal here and there though like pasta, pizza, burgers and KFC,’ she said.
The age-defying woman said strangers are often surprise when they learn her real age or find out she’s a mother.
‘When Latisha and I are out in public and she yells out “mum”, everyone always takes a second look and gets confused,’ Kat said.
‘I love it though, I get along with all her friends and they all follow me on TikTok. I go shopping with her, she gets along with my friends, we go out for lunch together, she steals my clothes and I steal hers and we fight like sisters too sometimes.
‘I love being so close to Latisha but I sometimes have to remind myself that I am her mother and not her friend.’

As a teen mother, Kat said she faced a lot of judgemental looks and nasty remarks.
‘The only regret I have is not standing up for myself,’ she explained.
‘People used to always say that they felt sorry for my daughter because she was being brought up by a teen mum.
‘I understand where those comments came from but I also think when you become a teen mum you have two choices, listen those comments and say “poor me” or start working hard to make sure your baby has the best life.
‘I look back now and I am so proud of what I’ve achieved and the child I have brought up. My daughter is now 17, studying at university to become a lawyer. I did everything for that little girl and she is making me a very proud mother.’
Looking at old pictures of herself at 17, Kat said she feels like she’s looking at someone completely different.
‘I feel sorry for her. Being a teen mum extremely hard… I was completely broken, inside and out,’ she said.
‘I hated looking at myself in the mirror, I hated who I had become and I was drained.’

‘I’m so passionate about helping women become the best versions of themselves because I know what it feels like to be on the other side,’ she explained.
‘I think everyone deserves to feel happy. When I look at myself now I think what a boss,’ she added, laughing.
‘I am so proud of me, what I’ve done in my life to be where I am now. It’s never been easy but I never stopped fighting.’
For teenage mums struggling with life, Kat advised: ‘Surround yourself with positive people who are going to lift you up and not bring you down.
‘Be very selective of who you spend time with. It’s possible to build the life you have always wanted, having a baby young doesn’t mean it’s all over for you, it will give you more motivation to keep fighting for the life you deserve. You got this girl.’
