The Portland Trail Blazers have renewed Keljin Blevins. The guard, who was already part of the squad last season under a dual contract, has agreed to continue one more course under the same conditions, which will allow him to fight again to gain weight in the team.
Last season, Blevins had a total of 75 minutes spread over 17 games, in which he had time to score 12 points and grab 10 rebounds, so he was by no means a particularly relevant player. Moreover, not even during his time with the Northern Arizona Suns of the G League, for whom he played during the 19-20 season, did he manage to be an important piece, although his 4.3 points and 2.8 rebounds seemed to convince those of Oregon.
On the other hand, Blevins is neither more nor less than Damian Lillard’s cousin, which makes it inevitable to wonder how much cause-and-effect relationship there is between this and his presence on the team. We will see if the guard manages with his performance to show that there are other reasons for this renewal, or if at least with his presence he manages to maintain good relations between the point guard and the franchise to prevent their paths from separating.
