Kenya formally joined the United Nations Security Council as a non-permanent member, for a period of two years.
The Kenya News Agency reported that one of the goals of Nairobi, which it is working on, is to include Al-Shabaab in the list of terrorist organizations at the United Nations, which could allow international efforts to eliminate this movement, which carried out many attacks in Somalia and Kenya.
It is noteworthy that, last June, Kenya enjoyed membership in the Security Council for the years 2021 and 2022, following elections held by the United Nations General Assembly.
