Kevin Durant ‘is expected to make Phoenix Suns debut Wednesday at Charlotte’ as the former Brooklyn star reveals he feels ‘great’ ahead of his first game since January 8
Kevin Durant is likely to make his Phoenix Suns debut on the road in Charlotte, NC Wednesday night.Â
It will be a long-awaited moment for fans of the Arizona franchise after the 13x NBA All-Star was traded to Phoenix from Brooklyn – along with TJ Warren – on February 8 in exchange for Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and four first-round picks.
Durant has not played since a January 8 game at Miami for the Nets after an MCL sprain. Though it seems as if the moment has arrived, after a Tuesday morning tweet by the Suns Twitter account.Â
‘Kevin Durant is expected to make his Phoenix Suns debut tomorrow in Charlotte,’ it read.Â
Meanwhile, the Slim Reaper spoke to media at Suns practice in Charlotte ahead of tomorrow’s game.Â

‘I feel great,’ Durant said. ‘I’m looking forward to getting this opportunity to play again, it’s been a long time.Â
‘I was having fun out there before I got injured, so looking forward to going out there and picking up where I left off.Â
‘I know it ain’t going to being that smooth, it’s going to take some time to get used to everything early on but as far as just having fun and getting lost in the game, I’m looking forward to doing that.’
While adding Durant to the mix is most certainly a positive conundrum to have, Durant admits it is going to take time for both he and the team to assimilate.Â
‘When you’ve got guys that are veterans in the league and high IQ, you can figure it out,’ he added.
Currently, Charlotte (20-43) are on a five-game winning streak as the North Carolina franchise looks to an ascend further up the standings despite a mostly miserable season.Â
They will be without star LaMelo Ball who suffered a fracture in his ankle during Monday’s 117-106 win over Detroit.Â
Conversely, Phoenix (33-29) will be hoping Durant’s presence can lift them to a win after Sunday’s 104-101 loss to a Giannis Antetokounmpo-less Milwaukee team.Â
