In response to widespread customer demand, KFC has announced the return of its popular Potato Wedges and Hot & Spicy Wings to menus nationwide, beginning August 18.
The Potato Wedges, which were discontinued in 2020 after developing a significant following since their introduction in the 1990s, are making a comeback after five years. Their return was prompted by numerous social media requests and petitions from fans. A recent trial reintroduction in Tampa, Florida, resulted in a rapid sellout at several locations.
Also returning are the Hot & Spicy Wings, last seen on menus nearly two years ago. The wings are prepared with a spicy marinade and double hand-breaded in KFC’s Extra Crispy flour. Both the wings and wedges will be available for a limited time while supplies last.
“Wedge-lovers, we heard you—and we agree it’s been five long years,” said Catherine Tan-Gillespie, President of KFC U.S. “This isn’t just a nostalgic nod. It’s an example of how we’re turning feedback into action as we chart our Kentucky Fried Comeback, a bold, brand-wide rally to give people more reasons to fall in love with us all over again.”
Customers can purchase the wedges as a standalone side, as a substitute for other sides, or in a new combo meal featuring six wings. The chain’s Secret Recipe Fries will remain a permanent menu option.
Alongside the returning items, KFC is introducing several promotional deals:
