The final event UFC event from Abu Dhabi’s Fight Island took place on Saturday night with Khabib’s victory over Justin Gaethje taking the headlines as the Russian announced his retirement.
Khabib stretched his incredible unbeaten record to 29-0 with a victory in the second round and Dana White revealed he was one of the fighters to walk away £40,000 richer.

White also said Khabib had broken his foot three weeks prior to the fight and had also contracted mumps in the build-up.
But there was no sign of injury as he took Gaethje down late in the first frame before the clock stepped in to save his opponent.
In the second round, Khabib again put Gaethje on the floor and sliced through his guard with ease and secured a triangle choke that the 31-year-old had no chance of escaping.

The night also produced some memorable clashes elsewhere and four fighters in total walked away with performance bonuses.
Magomed Ankalev shared performance of the night with Khabib for blitzing Ion Cutelaba.
Ankalev floored the Moldovan with an early punch and kept him there before claimed victory with a TKO in the final seconds of the first round.
Fight of the night went to prelim competitors Nathaniel Wood and Casey Kenney meaning both will also pocket an extra £40,000.
Their fight went the distance with Kenney given the decision via the judges.
