North Korea’s leader, Kim Jong Un, announced during the 8th General Conference of the ruling Korean Workers’ Party that his country has completed the process of forming a national nuclear force.
Kim Jong Un said, according to the Korean Central News Agency, that North Korea’s national strength has reached “the highest level ever.”
Members of the ruling Korean Workers’ Party in North Korea chose Kim Jong Un as its secretary-general, to take over from his late father, Kim Jong Il.
On January 8, Kim Jong Un called for the design of upgraded high-quality automatic military equipment, indicating that North Korea should continue to develop nuclear weapons, especially missiles capable of carrying nuclear warheads for a distance of 15,000 kilometers.
He stressed that North Korea will not use its nuclear capabilities unless “aggressive forces” try to exploit its nuclear weapons against his country.
