Former KISS guitarist Ace Frehley has canceled all his upcoming concerts, citing “ongoing medical issues.” The 74-year-old musician announced the decision on Monday but did not provide specific details about his condition.
This cancellation follows a recent hospitalization two weeks ago after Frehley suffered a minor fall in his studio. That incident prompted the cancellation of a September 26 show in Lancaster, California. According to reports, doctors have advised the guitarist to refrain from travel until he makes a full recovery from his unspecified injuries.
Frehley is known for his history of on-stage falls, particularly during his time with KISS, which he often attributed to the band’s signature high-heeled platform boots. “I used to fall a lot in those boots,” Frehley previously told Music Radar, adding that bandmate Paul Stanley would often play it off as part of the show’s choreography.
The tour’s cancellation comes as Frehley and the other original KISS members—Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, and Peter Criss—were announced as Kennedy Center Honorees by President Donald Trump. They are scheduled to receive the award at a December ceremony alongside George Strait, Sylvester Stallone, Michael Crawford, and Gloria Gaynor.
