The press office of the presidency in Kyrgyzstan announced that the country’s new president, Sader Jabarov, refused to use the presidential motorcade, and also gave up holding a banquet during his inauguration as President of the Republic.
“I have decided to abandon the private procession, the banquet and other ceremonial organizational events that involve significant financial costs. It is important that we only apply the mandatory procedures required by law when assuming the office of president,” the press office quoted Jabarov as saying.
According to the president-elect, “the state should focus all its attention on using public funds to support people and meet their needs.”
He said, “Taking into account the political situation after the October events and the economic, financial and epidemic situation in the republic, I think it is necessary in such a case to abandon the burdensome measures for the country’s economy. I think the people will understand that and support us in this area.”
