La La Anthony is dwarfed by her towering 14-year-old son Kiyan… but lovingly teases ‘I’ll still knock him out if I need to!’
The big question for television personality Alani Nicole ‘La La’ Anthony is whether her growing teenage son is going to follow in the footsteps of his father.
The 14-year old Kiyan Carmelo Anthony, whose father is NBA basketball standout Carmelo Anthony, hovers at least a half-a-foot taller than mother La La, according to a snap posted to Instagram on Tuesday.
The former MTV VJ, 39, and Carmelo Anthony, 37, were married in July 2010, though La La filed for divorce in June.

In La La’s snap posted to Instagram, the reality star wrote: ‘My baby @kiyananthony is growing up soooo fast ��������❤️❤️❤️he’s taller than me…faster than me…but I’ll still knock him out if I need too!!! �� ����������.’
The reality star is wearing an orange sleeveless sweater with a high turtle neck with the No. 5 emblazoned on the front.
The beaming mom is also clasping a Chanel billfold with her left hand.
Kiyan is wearing a matching orange New York Yankees jacket, black pants and untied Air Jordan basketball shoes.

Kiyan is the couple’s only child.
In February, Carmelo announced his son would be attending a high school with notable basketball star alumni in New York City, where La La bought a home after splitting up with Carmelo this summer.
Kiyan Anthony began attending Christ the King High School in Middle Village, Queens, this fall, and wears the No. 7 on his jersey in honor of his father who has worn the same number during his long career.
Still, Kiyan has big shoes to fill.
His six-foot, seven-inch dad signed on with the Los Angeles Lakers as a free agent forward on Aug. 6, and is a 10-time NBA all-star, playing previously for the Portland Trailblazers, Houston Rockets, New York Knicks and Denver Nuggets.
Before entering the NBA draft in 2003, Carmelo Anthony played college basketball for Syracuse University, winning a national championship as a freshman in 2003 while being named the NCAA Tournament’s Most Outstanding Player.
