LA Lakers’ Anthony Davis ‘might be available for a trade’ after the team’s dismal 2-8 start this season – with the power forward seen as ‘Plan B’ if the franchise is unable to offload Russell Westbrook
Anthony Davis might be available for trade, according to the latest rumors swirling the Los Angeles Lakers.
The Lakers have been surrounded by rumors that they have been trying to find a suitable trade to offload point guard Russell Westbrook since the summer, however according to Bill Simmons of the Ringer, moving Davis might be a Plan B.
‘There’s some buzz, some buzzing that AD might be available,’ Simmons said Monday on his podcast.

The Lakers have been trying and failing to find a trade partner for guard Russell Westbrook
‘That’s a Plan B because the Westbrook trade, or whatever they think they can get for Westbrook and whether you want to give up future assets, maybe that doesn’t even make sense cause what are you getting if you’re the Lakers?’
‘We’ve got Davis here, who I don’t think has looked the same for a couple years, certainly not close to bubble Davis (2020).
‘That’s the last time we saw vintage 2018 [New Orleans] Pelicans-level Davis.’
Statistically speaking Davis is still producing at a high-level averaging 22.5 points, 11.1 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks per game.
Injuries have plagued the big man in recent years as he has featured in 40 or less of the Lakers games over the last two seasons.
He has also been much less efficient as his shooting numbers have taken a drastic turn for the worse, and he looks much slower and less fluid on the court.

Former NBA champion Channing Frye recently blamed ’92 percent’ of the Lakers problems on Davis.
‘This is not about LeBron [James],’ Frye, said on the Road Trippin podcast. ‘This is not about Russ. This is about A.D. This is 92 percent about A.D.
‘He’s the youngest. He has the ability to play three different positions. … A.D., for the last two or three years, might be the worst jump shooter in the NBA.
‘A.D. won a championship, give him kudos,’ Frye continued. ‘After that championship, he has not shown any traits that he can replicate that [elite level of play].’
