SYRACUSE, N.Y. — After feet of snow piled up in many parts of NNY and WNY, lake effect snow is going to be impacting CNY including the Syracuse area between now and Tuesday.
Here’s a look at the very cold air that’s crossing all five of the Great Lakes as the cause and snow downwind of the lakes is the effect:
Latest weather alerts are for lake snow up that was up north and going to be across CNY for Monday and Tuesday:
Roads will become snow-covered and slippery in and around Syracuse as well as in much of CNY specifically for Wayne, Cayuga and Onondaga counties.
Here’s my thinking on new snowfall amounts between 10 PM Sunday and 7 AM Monday:
Now for daytime new snowfall Monday from 7 AM to 7 PM:
Let’s track the position, intensity and movement of the lake effect snow between now and Tuesday:
Beyond Tuesday this week we’ll see off and on chances for some additional light snowfall. The one big thing about our week ahead forecast is that it will remain pretty cold and windy at times.
