Stanley Johnson will finish the season with the Lakers. According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPNThe Californians have signed a two-year contract with the shooting guard, the second of which is dependent on a team option for the 2022-23 season.
Johnson thus manages to carve out a niche for himself in the gold and purple organization after two 10-day contracts in which he has convinced coaches and teammates. To be exact, he has played 14 games with an average of 6.4 points and 2.6 rebounds that he has adorned with 34.4% in triples, the best mark of his career.
Beyond such numbers, in Los Angeles he has convinced the solutions he gives the team on the track. In this short journey, he has shown himself to be an efficient defender who is not lacking in attack either, since he has good ball control and is easily seeing the basket from the corners.
The one who was number 8 in the 2015 draft has experienced endless sensations this season. He was first released by the Chicago Bulls during training camp, which led him to sign with the South Bay of the G League, a team affiliated with the Lakers. The losses, largely due to COVID, gave him an opportunity with LeBron James and company. Stanley Johnson has not wasted it.
