The Saudi Public Investment Fund yesterday launched the “Saudi Cruise” company, which aims to establish the cruise tourism sector in the Kingdom, and to strengthen its efforts to become a tourist destination for international cruises.
The company’s headquarters are located in Jeddah, on the Red Sea coast. Saudi Cruise will form a strategic bridge between the marine and land operations and the tourist port operations to be developed in many Saudi cities, to ensure the provision of an integrated tourism experience in line with the goals of the tourism sector in the Kingdom.
Saudi Cruise works to develop tourist destinations in partnership with the relevant authorities, with the aim of developing excursion routes, providing an exceptional experience for the Kingdom’s guests, and an opportunity to discover Saudi heritage and culture, in a manner that ensures the preservation of the environment and the protection of natural resources.
The company’s launch comes in line with the Public Investment Fund’s 2021-2025 strategy, which focuses on unlocking the capabilities of promising non-oil sectors, to reinforce the Kingdom’s efforts to diversify sources of revenue away from oil.
