Launch of the first financial education course for university students

The strong interest on the part of young Mexicans triggers the creation of financial education tools. Currently, generation Z, also called centennials, seeks to develop knowledge that allows them to have a good relationship with their personal finances, since they recognize the need for greater economic stability in order to achieve financial independence.

For this reason, within the framework of the National Financial Education Week (SNEF), the National Commission for the Protection and Defense of Financial Services Users (Condusef) together with the National Technological Institute of Mexico (tecNM), launched the course “With Financial Education: Build your Financial Future”.

According to Wilfrido Perea Curiel, general director of financial education at Condusef, this will be the first course developed around the needs of a higher level of schooling.

Ramón Jiménez López, general director of the Tecnológico Nacional de México, explained that prior to the launch, the course was offered to the entire tecNM community, so between September and October 22,213 students enrolled, of which 3,527 completed the course.

The course “With Financial Education: Build your Financial Future”, seeks to train users from basic knowledge, to complex and current issues such as new financial services or the payment ecosystem through 10 modules, which can be taken in line, for 40 hours.

Some of the topics offered by the new Condusef course are: the conformation of financial services, savings issues, use of credit, operation and accessibility to investment instruments, even more current topics such as the creation and services offered by fintech , as well as fraud prevention and cryptocurrency operations.
